Entering the less warm season

Another year: fires rage in California and the west. As we write this, we are thankful that friends and family are safe. But we are saddened by the amount of destruction, displacement, and loss for so many people. Our hearts go out to those affected and the firefighters that risk their lives trying to save so much while they face nature's rath.

November 1 and it was like a switch flipped. We went from the warm season to the less warm season. Now it gets "cold" at night--down to the low 60's and requires an extra blanket to sleep. Our apologies to our friends who live in the snow for mentioning Hawaii's version of "cold" .

The sunsets are gorgeous now: long, colorful, clear and beautiful. The ocean has been calm and reflects the colors of the clouds shifting from orange to red, purple, mauve and peach. The picture below does not do it justice.

The house is getting close. We have non stop daily chores trying to move this project to completion in the next three weeks. We asked our current landlord for an extention through November. He joked it would be November 2020. Hope he is not right. This past week we put in shelves in the linen closet in the master bath area.

The stretching rack in the master bath was hung this week.

And the sinks in the master bath are almost functional. The septic is connected and works so when the drains are connected, we can use the sinks.

The taper and mudder has missed 15 days of work. This has set back the painting which sets back the electrical. Anyway, supposedly (and you have heard this before), he will be there Monday. We shall see.

Saturday was a busy day. Electricians did a lot of finish work on the main floor (which has been taped, mudded and painted). Our fixture for over the island, which we purchased approximately 2 years ago, has been hung.

Our yard is about ready to plant in some areas.

We actually took an evening to play. We took beverages and snacks to watch the sunset from our lanai. WOW! for over 45 minutes, the sky changed from orange to red to areas of green and purple. The less warm season is spectacular. For those of you who do not like real heat, between Nov 1 and April is the time to come visit us. Aloha.
