Successful Watchman Procedure

We are very pleased to report that Judy's Watchman procedure last Wednesday was a success. She was in normal sinus rhythm prior to the procedure and she stayed in it--there was no need for a cardioversion. She was released on Thursday and we began our stay at a Union Square small hotel. She still gets tired easily--most likely she is still being effected by the anesthetic. Mike claims that it took him 2 weeks to recover from a general anesesthetic.

Tomorrow, Sunday, we rent a car and drive to Carson City to stay with our daughter Kimberly and her family.  Mike will return to the island on Tuesday to oversee the construction while Judy will convalesce with Kimberly until she can fly.
Judy taking a break from working on the French Drains

If it sounds busy and complex, it has been. But we were fortunate to stay with some friends, then visit with our son, Toby and his family in New York. We love doing projects and were priviledged to assist Toby and Hiam in the installation of French drains. This was really important since part of their basement flooded in the last big rain. Rain prevented working one day of a 4 day weekend, but all 4 of us plus Khalil pitching in at times, finished the trenches, got the pipe, wrap and gravel in, and covered it all up. We built a gate and a section of fence and got a preliminary start on another section. Toby is planning to build a deck and Mike would like greatly to assist. Unfortunately, schedules do not coincide.

It actually got warm enough for Mike to take his shirt off

We had a fun outing after working all day. It was the first Queen's Saturday night market for the season. Lots of food vendors, music, and fun for the grandkids.

At the Queen's Saturday night market. Fun, food, and yes, cold.
It feels like the house project slowed down while we are on the mainland. A cement pour was supposed to happen last week is now a maybe for Monday: the reason Mike needs to return before Judy can.  I am unable to figure out how to attach a photo sent from a message to show you the latest picture. But it also is not much to show except a lot of rebar and wood.

We thank all of you for your good thoughts for Judy. She has been bouyed by knowing close friends and family are staying in touch.

Love

Judy and Mike
